Rajkumar Rao completed his studies from Delhi University and then studied acting from Film and Television institute of India. He made his debut with Dibakar Banerjee’s film “Love Sex aur Dhoka” in the year 2010.

Rajkumar Rao was born in Gurgaon Haryana on 31st August 1984. He has two elder siblings, one brother Amit Yadav and sister Monika Yadav. His father Satya Prakash Yadav served as a government employee in Harayana and his mother was a homemaker. Rajkumar Rao as a child was always fascinated by acting of Aamir Khan, Manoj Bajpayee and Shahrukh Khan. He always wanted to become an actor and was so passionate that he used to copy Aamir Khan’s stunt from “Ghulam.”
Rajkumar Rao gave numerous auditions for allmost one and half year after which he got his first film in Ekta Kapoor’s Love Sex aur Dhoka in 2010. In 2012 he did film Talaash only to work with Aamir Khan who was his inspiration since his childhood. Rao is in a relationship with Patralekha who is also an actress and made her debut in film City Lights. They both first met each other while they were studying acting in FTII however fell in love after working together in a short film.
