Early Career and Education
Sonia completed her school, at the age of 13 years old. Thereafter, she joined the English language school in Cambridge.
Sonia has served the office of President of Indian National Congress political party, for a period of 15 years approximately till 2017 December. She entered into the politics in 1998 on continued party pleadings for 7 years, after the assassination of his husband. In the year 2019, she was again elected as the President of the INC political party after resignation of Rahul Gandhi from the post of President.
Sonia’s Italian origin was one of the concern, that she faced time and again. Still, she accepted the office of President and lead the party. Though she began to be a part of public life, after the assassination of her mother-in-law Indira Gandhi; when Rajiv Gandhi stepped into the full-time political life.
