Mika Singh was born as Amrik Singh in Durgapur West Bengal. He has six siblings and he was inspired by his father Ajmer Singh.

Mika Singh was born in Punjab but brought up in Patna Bihar after his father sold his property in Punjab and got relocated in Patna. Mika Singh always desired to become a music director and for this he started learning tabla when he was 8 and played harmonium at the age of 12 then took up guitar lessons. He dedicated his self made song Vande Mataram to Mother India at a show organised for the Indian army. He also has an NGO named Divine Touch as his mother always wanted him to help people.
