Personal Life

The Sikh family got blessed with Harbajan Singh on 3 July 1980 in the district of Jalandhar, Punjab. Sardar Sardev Singh Plaha (his father) only had one son who is Harbajan and five daughters.

His father was the owner of a business of a valve and the ball-bearing factory. Being the only son, Harbhajan was the one to join his father’s business. Though, Sardar Sardev Plaha (his father) made him focus on his career of being a cricketer to represent India.

Early Career and Life

In his life, he starts attaining training for batsman by Charanjit Singh Bhullar, who as his first coach. Later on, he chose spin bowling. After the unfortunate death of his first coach, he has to turn to Davinder Arora.

Arora gives the credit of Harbhajan’s victory in cricket to his 3-hour morning training session along with afternoon sessions after the sunset. In 2000, his father died, which made Harbhajan as the head of the family. By 2001, he managed to organize his three sister’s marriage.

Professional Career

From 2012 to 2013, he was the former captain to lead the IPL teams of Punjab and Mumbai Indians for the Ranji Trophy. In early 1998, he came up with his debut showing it in an ODI (One Day International). In 2001, his career came into the path of resuscitation as Anil Kumble (a leading leg spinner) got injured and Sourav Ganguly asked for Harbhajan’s inclusion to enter the team for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
