Premji took admission to Stanford University to do his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering degree from there.
Premji laid the incorporation of Vegetables in 1945. Under it, all the manufacturing was done for cooking oil using Sunflower Vanaspati as the brand name. When he got the news about his father’s death in 1966, he was 21-years-old and he returned from his University. It was that time when he took the charge to hold the Wipro company under his guidance.
At that time, the company was known as Western Indian Vegetable products. Premji diversified the company’s manufacturing sector into producing baby toiletries, hydraulic cylinders, hair care products, bakery fats, and others.
During the 1980s, Premji took advantage of using the IT field and converted the company’s name to Wipro. He entered into the technology sector and manufactured the most-demanding of that time, micro-computers.
