Soumya Swaminathan knew phD thesis since she was five years as many students came to her home to work with her father. She used to visit her father’s wheat field and lab and this is what created her passion to become a researcher.
Soumya wanted to become a veterinarian as she liked animals however she started studying for medical tests. After completing her MBBS she went to California for her further studies. Soumya Swaminathan continued her research on HIV and Tuberculosis for eighteen years in Chennai. She would travel to different poor homes to help people suffering with tuberculosis.
